courses are available for school groups in years 5 and 6. A course is typically 8 hours long, broken into three, four or five sessions. The first session is always held on the playground with the aim of completing Bikeability level 1; subsequent sessions are mainly on road and aim to complete Bikeability level 2.
At Amersham Cycle Training the groups are kept small - between five and eight children - to give every child the maximum teaching and practice time. We run 8-hour courses because we want children to learn and gain the confidence to use their skills to ride their bikes after they have finished the course.
Funding is available from Bucks County Council to pay most of the cost of a Bikeability course.
We also offer school-based training for younger children and family courses to encourage everyone to cycle to school.
We know it's eco-friendly
We know it's healthy
We know it's cheap
But... what the politicians seem to forget is
Cycling is fun!
